LAN War XXVIII at Indiana University

Gaming @ IU has completed another great event at Briscoe Quad, wrapping up the 28th LAN War for this organization. The event was 11 AM March 28th - 11 AM March 29th, 2015.

Attendance

Attendance was very good, with almost 200 students and local attendees.

Tourneys

Tournaments hosted included Counter Strike:Global Offensive, DOTA 2, and League of Legends. Other popular games of note included Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm, Elite: Dangerous, and StarCraft 2.

Sponsors

Sponsorship for the event was great, with finacial support from TeSPA and the IUSA, which helped to keep costs down, and increase the value of the tourney prizes. Additional food was supported by the local HuHot Mongolian Grill, and Monster Energy came through with a great energy drink supply to keep the gamers up. Raffle support came in big as well, with prizes from Western Digital, Slappa, Patriot, Antec, Zotac, Vroom Foods, TeSPA, Jinx, Gear Grip, InWin, Silverstone, Lepa, Trendnet, and more. Please thank all of these great sponsors for continuing to show up, and really throw their support behind the club, and e-Sports in general. Most have contact links on facebook pages or their parent site.

All attendees were given an event shirt, dinner, and breakfast if they stayed around that long.

Issues / Followup

Thanks to Butler Bret, the CS:Go started on time this event, and all the tournaments ran efficiently, and were well attended. Pizza was plentiful, and lasted long after a call for third servings was delivered :)

Thanks

As always, a big very thanks to Eric Hafner, Graham Shepfer and the entire RPS gang for the great location, table and chairs setup, and power / maintenance support throughout the event. Thanks to Dave Cooley and the SoIC for storage support all year.
